A clean-energy super PAC funded almost entirely by a major Democrat donor is pouring millions of dollars into Tennessee’s Republican primary in an effort to defeat Trump-backed Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN).
The Invest in Tomorrow Coalition has spent roughly $1 million opposing Ogles and supporting his challenger, former Tennessee Agriculture Commissioner Charlie Hatcher, before purchasing another $700,000 in advertising ahead of Thursday’s primary.
Federal Election Commission records show the group is bankrolled by Chris Larsen, the liberal California billionaire and chairman of cryptocurrency company Ripple.
